Rem Langan is one of Canada’s most respected and successful marketers. As CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities he was responsible for all fundraising initiatives, resulting in a 400% increase in revenues over 4 years. As Chief Marketing Officer for McDonald’s Canada, Rem directed all financial and human capital related to marketing and communications, with a budget of $100 million, and provided direction for all advertising and public relations. Rem has been responsible for strategic alliances (Disney, Olympics, Hockey), international joint ventures, media relations, internal communications, and the strategy behind McDonald’s first restaurant in the USSR. Rem is now a leading consultant to both for-profits and not-for-profits.
Recently inducted into the Marketing Hall of Legends, Syd is a successful entrepreneur, creative marketing legend, and producer extraordinaire. Syd grew a joint venture in 1988 with John Labatt Ltd. called Supercorp from $10M annual revenue to over $150M in just four years, becoming the commercial production industry’s unrivaled leader, controlling 68% of all advertising production in Canada and 2% in the U.S. In 1994 he created The Kessler Group which secured contracts with such notable American firms as Dow Jones, Wal*Mart and US West. Syd then became Co-Director of KPMG’s e-commerce practice in 1997. Syd now spends his time identifying, investing and mentoring new businesses, principally in the entertainment, advertising, and insight research industries.
Kevin Shea is a former president of Sirius Satellite Radio, YTV Television Network, Global Television Network and Alliance Atlantis Communications. He serves on the marketing board of the National Capital Commission and chairs the Ontario Media Development Corporation. His past governance experience includes chairing the Canadian Film Centre and serving on the boards of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, Canadian Women in Communications, the Canadian Cable Television Association, the Canadian Film and Television Production Association, the Banff International Television Festival, Life Network, Prime TV Network, CN Tower Limited, Children’s Broadcast Institute and the Canadian Children’s Foundation. He also chaired the Toronto Tourism Recovery Alliance in the aftermath of SARS. In 2013, Kevin was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal.
Odette Levy serves as a Director of Spin Master, the leading global children’s entertainment company that creates, designs, manufactures, licenses and markets a diversified portfolio of innovative toys, games, products and entertainment properties. Odette is responsible for philanthropy, events and launched successful innovation programs for young creators.
Gadi is a multiple award-winning video game producer who has worked at the world’s top publishers on some of the industry’s biggest franchises. Gadi’s specialty is project management and operations, taking some of the most complex projects in the industry to completion. Most recently, Gadi helped Ganz Interactive by managing the repositioning of their billion-dollar interactive kid’s property, Webkinz.
Gadi was Lead Producer at Electronic Arts in Montreal, working on titles such as Need for Speed Nitro for the Wii, garnering the 2009 E3 IGN Best Racing Award. From 2003-2008 Gadi worked at Ubisoft Montreal as Lead Producer, creating Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands for Ps#, xBox and PC, Lost, and the Farcry franchise.
Jacob has spent the last fifteen years as an entrepreneur in the entertainment, advertising, and technology sectors, building successful enterprises with his father, Syd Kessler. Jacob has taken on different roles in these organisations, including general manager, business and marketing strategist, creative thinker, and executive producer. As a producer, Jacob has been involved and led over 500 productions throughout his career across multiple media, from traditional TV, radio, stereoscopic 3D, out of home, and online.
